Job Description - VoIP Engineer

Job Title: VoIP Engineer
Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a results-driven and technically adept VoIP Engineer with over 4 years of hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing enterprise-grade VoIP solutions. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in configuring SIP trunks, deploying and managing Session Border Controllers (SBCs), and maintaining complex IP PBX systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, deploy, and optimize VoIP solutions for enterprise environments

- Configure and manage SIP trunks with major service providers

- Deploy and manage Session Border Controllers (SBCs) for secure VoIP communications

- Maintain and troubleshoot complex IP PBX systems across various platforms, including:

- Grandstream UCM

- Yeastar S-Series

- 3CX v20+

- Asterisk FreePBX

- Troubleshoot call routing issues and implement dial plans

- Ensure network QoS for VoIP traffic and integrate voice solutions with legacy systems and modern unified communication environments

Required Skills:

- SIP Trunking (Registration, Authentication, NAT Traversal)

- Session Border Controller (SBC) Configuration & Security

- IP PBX Platforms (configuration and management)

- Call Routing & Dial Plan Logic

- VoIP Protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP, T.38)

- QoS and VoIP Traffic Shaping

- Number Normalization and E.164 Formatting

- Integration with PSTN Gateways, VoIP Phones, and Softphones

- Network Diagnostics & Packet Analysis (Wireshark, sngrep)

- VoIP Monitoring & Troubleshooting (logs, CDR, SIP traces)

- Successfully implemented SIP trunking and number porting projects across multi-site enterprise environments

- Migrated legacy PBX systems to IP-based platforms, achieving improved call quality and reduced telecom costs

- Deployed secure SBC configurations to support remote IP phones and NAT traversal for global teams

- Streamlined dial plans and outbound rules for diverse geographic and business needs

- Delivered training and documentation to IT teams and end-users on VoIP system usage and best practices

Requirements:

- 4+ years of experience in VoIP engineering

- Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
