Accountant - Retail

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records including ledgers accounts payable/receivable payroll and fixed assets.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Process invoices expense reports and other financial documents accurately and efficiently.
• Support monthend and yearend closing processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends variances and opportunities for cost savings.
• Provide support and guidance to other departments regarding financial procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience in the retail industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP or similar).
• Strong understanding of UAE financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Filipino is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VAT compliance and reporting in the UAE.
• Familiarity with retailspecific financial processes and challenges.
