ROLE SUMMARY

Responsible for all private channel related commercial activities including, activity planning and monitoring, alignment with commercial teams, implementation of Joint Business Plans and leading development & implementation of overall channel commercial strategies. The incumbent will also be responsible for developing market insight details for effective decision making and also to support sales team and controls for effective monitoring of our business

What you’ll do

  • Develop short and long term channel specific plans based on thorough understanding of market conditions and trends.
  • Effectively negotiate mutually beneficial solutions with various stakeholders and influence key decision-makers ( internal and external ) to improve competitiveness of our brands and gain share
  • Lead the development and implementation of Business Plans with key customers to elevate AZ’s partnership to a strategic level for short and long term gains
  • Identify and monitor competitors and market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales
  • Prioritize channel activities for maximum returns
  • Develop strategies and activities that help the company become the supplier of choice
  • Monitor activities at the trade channel levels for the gathering of insight and also to track our aligned activities with the accounts
  • Establish and manage business insights and business analytics for fact based decision making
  • Manage the process for oversight of customer inventory for top SKU’s and identify opportunities and risk
  • Developing effective governance to monitor our trade management process as per the SOP’s.
  • Providing feedback and CFT alignment
  • Outstanding customer orientation and responsiveness
  • Strong ability to build sustainable relationships, ability to communicate efficiently on all levels
  • High level of business acumen
  • Position AZ as a partner of choice for different stakeholders
  • Essential Disease & Products Knowledge
  • Annual certification with full alignment to all related SOPs, policies and local regulations for self and team.
  • Meet& exceed Commercial KPIs
  • Encourage teams to provide market intelligence feedback
  • Care about AZ assets, by optimize the company resources to report: expiry, stock average of key brands, and key accounts inclusions status of new launches.
  • Ensure all activities in line with related SOPs, policies and local regulations

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Maintain highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies
  • Ensure that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.
  • Timely report (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing related accidents; adverse events that you became aware about; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.

Only applications based in UAE will be considered.

Essential for the role

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in pharmaceutical sales.
  • Previous experience in retail and commercial operation is preferable.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities and financial management.
  • Strong oral, written and listening skills that are demonstrated through effective communication with colleagues and customers.
  • Interpersonal skills – Influencing, negotiation, collaboration and team work
  • Effective analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making
  • Planning and organization skills
  • Emotional intelligence.
  • Business Acumen.

Desirable for the role

  • Preferable prior experience in multi-national pharmaceutical/equivalent companies.
  • Knowledge of AZ organizational structure and key internal customers.
  • Effective use of key software products (Eg. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
