ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF THE FUTURE
The Museum of the Future is a public initiative created by the Dubai Future Foundation. The Foundation was incorporated in 2015 by the Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and is run under the leadership of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Museum now operates as an LLC.


The Museum of the Future is a visionary cultural institution set to become a showplace for a new era – a center of creativity and hope that combines elements of the exhibition, immersive theatre, and themed attraction.


Once ready, the destination will welcome visitors to come together to learn, explore, and start shaping our shared future today. The Museum will be a place like no other, a home of tolerance, inviting varied cultural, philosophical, social, and spiritual outlooks.

WHERE DOES THIS ROLE FIT INTO THE BIGGER PICTURE?
The Head of Procurement is crucial in the Support Services Department, ensuring that all procurement and contracts activities align with the museum's strategic objectives.


The Head of Procurement reports to Director of Support Services.



Head of Procurement
As a Head of Procurement, you are responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relations, and ensuring that services meet contract requirements, thereby supporting the Museum’s operational and strategic needs.

Strategic Functions
• You will formulate and execute the department's operational plan and initiatives in collaboration with the leadership team and key stakeholders.
• You will manage and oversee the execution of operational plans relevant to procurement, aligning with the museum’s overall strategy.
• You will contribute to the preparation of the annual budget of the department based on operational plans and activities relevant to the section.
• You will develop and implement departmental policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with leading practices and regulations.
• You will drive improvement initiatives within the procurement section.

Technical Functions
• You will develop the strategic sourcing & procurement strategy and Annual Procurement Plan (APP) in collaboration with all functions, and in alignment with MOTF’s current budgeting cycle to ensure the lowest cost possible.
• You will oversee any deviations from procurement plans and manage the implementation of corrective actions in conjunction with the concerned sections/functions.
• You will lead the execution of the complete tendering life cycle which includes announcing bids, supplier invitations, determining and selecting qualified suppliers, issuing purchase orders for vendors, and completing the required documentation to close bids.

• You will monitor contract execution ensuring they are duly fulfilled and adhered to at the time of closing and suggest any required amendments to the Legal team.
• You will lead the utilization of procurement software to generate purchase orders, including relevant details such as quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines.
• You will manage vendor relationships, ensuring that they comply with the agreed requirements.
• You will prepare report on spending behavior across internal and external procurement activities and develop cost reduction strategies based on spend behavior and latest market trends and predictions in coordination with Finance function.

Managerial Functions
• You will contribute to the development of a workforce plan for the department.
• You will contribute to the achievement of department objectives through setting objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating the team members to maximize performance.
• You will mentor, coach, motivate and challenge team members providing opportunities for growth and development.
• You will contribute to the utilization of team efforts and assist in implementing best fit methods of team allocations and manage knowledge exchange within the team.
• You will provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to the Department Director.
• You will perform any additional duty or special project requested by the concerned Director.

Skills

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

• You will have a bachelor’s degree in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with demonstrated leadership in managing procurement functions.
• You will have advanced skills in procurement planning, tendering, contracting, and purchasing.
• You will have strong leadership capabilities with the ability to drive strategy and deliver value.
