Part-Time Faculty Positions in Communication


Canadian University Dubai invites applications for part-time faculty positions in the School of Communication for the Fall Semester 2026/2027, commencing August 31, 2026.


The School seeks qualified academics and industry professionals with strong teaching capabilities, relevant professional experience, and a commitment to delivering engaging, student-centred learning experiences.


Applications are invited in the following areas:



  • Public Relations

  • Digital Media and Journalism

  • Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications


Multiple part time appointments may be made across these areas, depending on teaching requirements, candidate qualifications, professional expertise, and institutional needs.


The Role


Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses across the School’s programmes, including the Bachelor of Arts in Communication, with concentrations in Public Relations, Digital Media and Journalism, and Advertising and Integrated Marketing Communications, as well as courses related to Creative Industries.


Part time faculty members will be responsible for delivering assigned courses, preparing appropriate teaching and assessment materials, supporting student learning, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and professionally engaged academic environment.


Teaching assignments will be determined according to the candidate’s area of specialisation, academic qualifications, professional experience, and the School’s scheduling requirements.


Key Responsibilities


Successful candidates will be expected to:



  • Teach assigned undergraduate courses in their area of specialisation.

  • Prepare and maintain course materials, syllabi, assessments, and learning resources in accordance with University requirements.

  • Deliver engaging, academically rigorous, and student centred learning experiences.

  • Assess student work fairly and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades within established deadlines.

  • Provide appropriate academic guidance and support to students enrolled in assigned courses.

  • Participate in course coordination, moderation, and quality assurance activities, where required.

  • Ensure that course content remains current and reflects relevant academic, professional, and industry developments.

  • Attend relevant School meetings, orientation sessions, and professional development activities, where required.

  • Contribute to a collegial, inclusive, respectful, and professionally engaged academic environment.


Required Qualifications


Applicants must have:



  • A minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited university in Communication, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Integrated Marketing Communications, Creative Industries, Digital Media, or a closely related field.

  • Relevant teaching, professional, or industry experience in one or more of the advertised areas.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the subject area and the ability to deliver high quality undergraduate teaching.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

  • The ability to use appropriate educational technologies and digital learning platforms.

  • A commitment to student centred teaching, academic integrity, inclusion, and student success.


Preferred Qualifications


Preference will be given to candidates who have:



  • A PhD or terminal degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Previous teaching experience in higher education.

  • Relevant professional or industry experience in communication, media, journalism, advertising, public relations, digital production, or creative industries.

  • Experience developing course materials, assessments, and applied learning activities.

  • Evidence of effective teaching and positive student engagement.

  • Familiarity with curriculum requirements, quality assurance processes, and learning outcome assessment.

  • The ability to teach across more than one specialisation.
