This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in LutterworthKey Responsibilities Overseeing transportation and dispatch activities within the supply chain. The role focuses on coordinating fleet operations, managing delivery schedules, offering leadership support and guidance to the driver team and ensuring products move efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively through the supply chain network.The position also supports warehouse coordination, inventory management, carrier management, and compliance with transport and health & safety regulations.Transport & Logistics OperationsSupervise daily transport and distribution activitiesCoordinate vehicle scheduling, route planning, and dispatch operationsMonitor delivery timelines and resolve transport delaysEnsure efficient utilization of fleet vehicles and driversTrack transportation KPIs including on-time delivery, fuel usage, and vehicle performanceLiaise with third-party transport providers and carriersSupply Chain CoordinationCoordinate movement of goods between warehouses, suppliers, and customersSupport inventory management with inbound, stock availability and reportingCollaborate with up stream supply chain, warehouse, and customer service teamsEnsure accurate shipping and transport documentationMonitor stock transfers and outbound logistics performanceTeam LeadershipBe a point of support to the DC manager for driver team managementPromote safe working practices and operational disciplineHandle operational escalations and incident reportingCompliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with transport legislation and company proceduresMonitor vehicle maintenance and inspection schedulesMaintain health & safety standards across transport operationsInvestigate accidents, delivery issues, or operational disruptionsReporting & Continuous ImprovementPrepare operational and KPI reportsIdentify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve efficiencySupport implementation of process improvements and logistics initiativesPreferred Skills & KnowledgeKnowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologiesStrong data analysis and performance management skillsExperience with ERP/WMS systemsAbility to lead change and transformation initiativesKnowledge of distribution systems to include order routingUnderstanding of dispatch issues and proceduresCross departmental collaboration between key departments to achieve shared targetsWorking ConditionsFull time on site Mon – Fri 8am - 5pmBenefits25 days annual leave + bank holidays & the option to purchase an additional 5 days per yearPrivate HealthcareLife AssurancePension salary sacrificeFree on-site parking (and electric charging)Access to retail discount portalDiscretionary bonus
