Our client is a prestigious primary education facility located within the centre of Fleetwood. The school is a beautiful mix of modern facilities, sporting large areas of play, containing various stimulating areas, from role play to a sensory den, physical play to a creative area. There are multiple playgrounds for the children to mix, have fun, be creative and make friends within a colourful and wondrous environment. The classrooms are large with enough space for every child to feel secure and free to perform activities and learn through fun in a well kept setting. There are many other facilities such as art rooms, cookery pods and technology rooms filled with teaching and learning equipment of the highest standard and quality. The Clients ethos and values align with their motto in that children are taught to believe in their dreams and that they can achieve them and they are committed to keeping those values at the forefront.
The school requires a qualified TA that will provide support to a lovely young girl who requires academic and social support who has down syndrome, from January 2025. The position will be long term or day to day supply, depending on your availability within the role. We require availability to be from 8:30 - 15:30 in relation to regular school hours.
Key responsibilities:
Individualized Support: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs, both within the classroom and during break times/lunch.
Behavior Management: Implement agreed-upon behavior management strategies consistently and positively, helping the child develop self-regulation and coping mechanisms.
Learning Facilitation: Adapt learning materials and activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure the child can access the curriculum.
Social and Emotional Development: Foster the child's social skills, emotional literacy, and independence, encouraging positive interactions with peers and adults.
Communication & Collaboration: Liaise regularly with the class teacher, SENCO, parents/carers, and other professionals (e.g., therapists, educational psychologists) to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.
Progress Monitoring: Observe and record the child's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and contributing to reviews of their individualized education plans (IEPs).
Personal Care (if required): Assist with personal care needs as necessary and appropriate for the child's age and requirements.
Safety & Well-being: Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times, adhering to school policies and procedures.
