1:1 SEN Year 6 Teaching Assistant

Your new role
The school we are working with in St Helens town centre are seeking a dedicated, caring and proactive 1:1 SEN teaching assistant to work within their year 6 class in September on a full time temporary contract. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on helping children achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a pupil in year 6, support them through their sats and prepare them for their transition into secondary school. You will work on developing their social and emotional skills and support in their learning and wellbeing. The role includes working closely with the class teacher to ensure that tailored support is in place to meet the pupils individual needs, implement strategies to support behaviour management and foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a primary school setting
• Full right to work in the UK
• DBS
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant qualifications Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate are desirable
