1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Camden from September. The successful candidate will work closely with a child is nonverbal and who uses Makaton and PECS as their primary method of communication.
This is a full-time, term-time position, ideal for someone with experience in SEND support, particularly with communication needs and Makaton and PECS trained and understanding.

Requirements:
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
• Makaton and PECS knowledge and training.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A patient, caring and flexible approach.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support to a child with communication difficulties.
• Use Makaton and PECS to aid learning, communication and emotional support.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
