Are you a caring and enthusiastic teaching assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs? Do you want to make a meaningful impact on a child's education in a supportive and nurturing primary school in Canterbury?

Academics in Canterbury are working closely with a vibrant primary school in Canterbury who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil on an ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and is committed to supporting the learning and development of children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a child in KS2, tailoring learning activities to meet their individual needs
• Build a strong, positive relationship with the child to support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/carers
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where the child feels safe, supported, and engaged

What we are looking for:

• A relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or currently studying for a PGCE or Education Degree
• Previous experience supporting children with a range of abilities, particularly in a 1:1 setting
• A patient, flexible and adaptable approach to support individual learning needs
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team ethic
• A genuine passion for helping children thrive and succeed
• Right to work in the UK
