Location: Walsall, West Midlands (WS1)
Position Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM - 3:30PM)

Pay Rate: Competitive (Based on Experience)
Contract Type: Long Term | Temp to Perm | Daily Flexible Supply

Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Walsall to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of Special Education Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. This role is ideal for someone committed to helping children feel safe, supported, and able to engage in learning.

About the Role:
· Provide tailored 1:1 support to student with SEN and/or SEMH needs
· Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional well-being and academic progress
· Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing key social and behaviour skills
· Use a calm and structured approach to help pupils self-regulate and engage in school life
· Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet individual needs

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
· Experienced in working with children who have SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs (in school or alternative settings)
· Calm, patient, and empathetic, with a trauma-informed and inclusive mindset
· Passionate about making a positive impact in children's educational journeys
· Adaptable, resourceful, and able to work effectively within a team

Essential Requirements:
· Right to Work in the UK
· A Level 2 Qualification in Teaching & Learning, or equivalent
· A valid Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
· Two recent, child-related professional references (covering the last two years)
· A good understanding of nurture-based and inclusive classroom practices
