Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant with experience of supporting students with additional needs? Do you have current restraint training and a passion for making a difference in a young person's life? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Hartlepool is seeking a dedicated 1-2-1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with complex behavioural needs. This is a
temporary position, ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive, structured environment and is confident in using positive behaviour management strategies.
?? Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1-2-1 support to a student with behavioural and emotional needs
• Implement strategies to promote engagement, learning, and emotional regulation
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
• Use de-escalation techniques and restraint procedures when necessary (training essential)
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to review meetings

?? Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
• Current restraint training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
