2nd Line 24/7 WAN Network Support Engineer SC Cleared

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Line WAN Network Engineer to join our 24/7 BAU operations team in Birmingham. This role involves supporting, managing, and configuring SRX series routers to ensure the global delivery of secure network services. If you are an experienced network engineer, this is an excellent opportunity to manage and maintain our Customer Network WAN estate, handle escalations, work on project implementations, and provide guidance to 1st line engineers while collaborating with 3rd line engineers.

• Provide technical network support within the WAN environment.
• Manage and configure Juniper network devices, particularly SRX and MX platforms.
• Handle escalations and work closely with both 1st and 3rd line engineers to resolve complex issues.
• Participate in project implementations and contribute to all phases from planning to deployment.
• Share knowledge and enhance the skills of the 2nd line team through collaboration and training.

• Strong experience in configuring and troubleshooting Juniper network devices.
• In-depth knowledge of BGP, including policy-based routing, attribute manipulation, load-balancing techniques, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting IPsec VPNs and MPLS networks.
• Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols.
• Good understanding of PKI infrastructure and experience with certificate-based VPN authentication.
• Hands-on experience with various SRX and MX platforms, along with strong CLI expertise.

• This role requires full on-site presence in Birmingham.
• The working pattern includes 12-hour shifts, with 4 days on (7am – 7pm), followed by 4 days off, and then 4 nights on (7pm – 7am), followed by 4 nights off.
