Aboricultural Lead Climber

Lead Climber / Team Leader

We are looking for a team leader to supervise and lead a team of Arborists to ensure that work is carried out to the standard.

You will be responsible for the care and management of trees to ensure their health. You will also take part in carrying out arboricultural maintenance such as removing dead, diseased or weak limbs, improve tree structure, pest and disease monitoring and treatment.

Other responsibilities include:

- Soil management

- Watering programs

- Removing hazardous, dead or improperly located trees

- Use rigging systems, cranes or bucket trucks

- Stump grinding

- Tree planting

Qualifications

- CS30 Maintain and operate the chainsaw

- CS38 Climb trees and perform aerial rescue

- CS39 Use of the chainsaw from a rope and harness

- CS41 Aerial Tree Rigging Level 3 Qualification

- Lantra Brushwood Chipper NPTC A06

- CS31 Felling of small trees

- Level 3 Award in Felling and Processing Trees over 380mm

- CS40 Carry out pruning operations

- CS41 Undertake sectional felling operations

- 002115 - City and Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in the Safe Use of a Chainsaw from a Mobile Elevated Work Platform

- PA1 & PA6 Use and Application of Chemicals

- Lantra stump grinder NPTC A07

Must have:

- A nationally recognised arboricultural qualification or the willingness to gain one.

- Proven working knowledge and application of key arboricultural skills including knowledge and practice of arboricultural operations

- Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work act and relevant safe working practice

- Good working knowledge of arboricultural vehicles, machinery and equipment

- First Aid at Work certificate

- Hold a Full clean UK driving licence with C1 + E entitlement

Experience

Must have proven experience within the arboricultural industry at Climber/ Lead Climer level.
