This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the effective delivery of teaching by aligning student intake with academic staffing capacity. The Academic Workforce Planning Manager will lead on producing and analysing high-quality data to support resource decisions, using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and student systems. By connecting staffing, timetabling, and programme delivery, this role provides key insight to senior leadership and contributes directly to operational excellence across the academic cycle.

Academic Workforce Planning Manager Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the production of staffing and programme data to support decision-making using the Workload Allocation Model (WAM).
• Provide the senior leadership team with reports on student intake and staff planning across multiple academic programmes.
• Deliver high-quality analysis to inform recruitment and resource decisions aligned with programme delivery.
• Act as the Operations Planning Manager contact for data integrity, GDPR compliance and system improvements.
• Support timetable planning by linking student numbers to staffing availability and teaching allocation.
• Collaborate with academic and professional teams to embed consistent planning practices and operational models.

Academic Workforce Planning Manager Key Skills:

• Strong Excel skills essential; Power BI knowledge is desirable but not essential
• Experience in higher education or a similar setting involving academic or staffing resource planning.
• Proven ability to communicate complex data clearly to senior, non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
