My client is a Local Authority in East London who are looking to appoint a talented Accountant on an Interim basis. Spencer Clarke Group are working with the Hiring Managers to make a successful appointment.

About the role:

Based in South East London (Hybrid):

This role is a key delivery role within the Accountancy Business Partnership Service helping to ensure the Service delivers its key objectives at an operational level and support managers in the operational delivery of the Accountancy Business Partnership Service function.

What's on offer:

• Rate: £300 - £400 per day inside IR35.

*negotiable based on experience

• Hybrid working.
• Contract type: Contract (35hrs a week)
• Hours: 09:00 -17:00 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities may include:

1. Budget setting monitoring and closing of accounts / Following processes e.g. Treasury Management / Undertaking financial control processes e.g. reconciliations / Submission of grant claims and returns.
2. To contribute, as required, to the development of strategies, policies and practices that help maintain the financial stability and probity of the Council.
3. To respond to external and internal audit queries to the correct standard in an appropriate timescale.

About you:
You will have the following experience:

• Public Sector Financial Management experience.
• Membership of AAT or part-professionally qualified accountant, or part AAT qualified plus significant relevant financial management experience.
