Accounts Assistant

• Hourly Rate: £12.81 - £14.00 (DOE)
• Location: Eastbourne
• Job Type: Temporary (3-month contract but could be extended)

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join one of our clients on a temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone with a keen interest in the construction industry, although this is not essential. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting our accounts team with various financial tasks.

• Assisting with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.
• Completing purchase orders and managing payroll.
• Completing bank reconciliations.
• Entering financial information into appropriate software programs.
• Managing company ledgers.
• Handling accruals and prepayments.
• Managing monthly budgeting tasks.
• Encoding accounting entries for data processing.
• Sorting financial documents and posting them to the proper accounts.
• Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source.
• Resolving errors in financial reports and correcting faulty reporting methods.

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
• Experience in the construction industry is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. SAP).
• An AAT qualification would be advantageous but is not necessary.
