Job Description - Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting function, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with daily transactions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy finance team on an interim basis.

Description

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data entry is up to date.
  • Assist with processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage petty cash accounts.
  • Support month-end reporting and preparation of financial statements.
  • Respond to internal and external queries regarding financial matters.
  • Collaborate with the accounting & finance team to improve processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Provide administrative support as needed within the department.

Profile

A successful Accounts Assistant should have:

  • A strong understanding of basic accounting principles having worked in a similar role previously.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues and external partners.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Be available on short notice and be able to commit to the fixed term contract.
