Our client, a leading business in the Southwest, is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their dynamic team on a full-time, temporary basis.

As the Accounts Payable Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the finance department, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of high-volume transactions.

The responsibilities:

• Process and monitor payments and expenditures to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Handle high-volume supplier invoices, ensuring they are correctly matched to purchase orders and authorised for payment.
• Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and supplier statements.
• Payment runs.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and liaise with internal departments or suppliers as required.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions and filing systems.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

The candidate:

• Previous experience in accounts payable, ideally with exposure to high-volume international transactions.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
