Accounts Payable Assistant

Based in the Lanarkshire area, our client is recruiting an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a temporary basis for 6 months. This role is a 37.5-hour working week, with standard hours being 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and working fully onsite. This is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience within the industry and work alongside a collaborative finance team.

Your new role

In this role, you will report directly to the Finance Manager and Finance Director working within a fast-paced Accounts Payable team and carrying out a variety of duties. You will also serve as a key point of contact for supplier queries, working closely with both internal teams and external vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Additionally, you will handle statement reconciliations to ensure all accounts are up-to-date and discrepancies are resolved. In addition, you will handle bank reconciliations and manage payment runs.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have prior Accounts Payable experience and have strong attention to detail. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate openly and build positive relationships both internally and externally. You will have experience working with Excel, including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables, and the successful candidate will ideally have experience using Sage or a similar integrated package. You must also be immediately available to start the role and able to hit the ground running.
