Our client, a prominent organisation in the Government and Public Sector, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Team Leader for a temporary position in Stevenage. ?? Contract Details:

• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: October 31, 2025
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Hourly Rate: £18.72
• Location: Stevenage (just a 5-minute walk from the train station! ??)

? Job Purpose:
As the Accounts Payable Team Leader, you will manage the Accounts Payable team and oversee the entire purchase-to-pay process. Your role will be pivotal in developing and maintaining robust Accounts Payable policies, streamlining processes, and ensuring all payments are valid and properly authorised.

??? Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Purchase Ledger (PL) and Purchase Ordering (RSS) modules.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with IT and software suppliers to ensure system efficiency.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a team of two Accounts Payable Officers.
• Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Regularly reconcile Purchase Ledger and General Ledger control accounts.
• Support the preparation of the Council's budget and year-end accounts.
• Handle statutory returns and maintain compliance with financial regulations.
