Adult Social Care Assessor

Join our Adult Social Care team as an Assessor in the Early Support & Advice Hub.

• Postcode Area: OL6
• Contract Type: Short-term (while permanent recruitment is underway)
• Working Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Pattern:
• 4 days per week (9-hour shifts)
• Includes weekend and bank holiday working
• Service operates between 7:30am and 7:00pm
• Some remote working available for late shifts
• Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £13.01/hour
• Umbrella: £17.65/hour
• Driving Requirement: Essential – valid UK driving licence required
• DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS required

• Act as the first point of contact for Adult Social Care referrals
• Respond to calls and contacts from individuals and professionals
• Gather key information to assess needs and risks
• Conduct pre-screening for Care Act assessments
• Provide early help, advice, and signposting to appropriate services
• Promote independence and support individuals to remain living well at home
• Collaborate with voluntary and third-sector partners
• Apply a strengths-based approach using reablement, assistive technology, and direct payments
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement

• Experience working with adults in a health or social care setting (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Enhanced DBS clearance
• Fluent spoken English (as required for customer-facing roles under the fluency duty)
