Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Adults Social Care team. This is a crucial role focused on supporting adults with care and support needs, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will handle complex cases, contribute to multi-agency working, and support the development of best practice within the team. You’ll work in line with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and other key legislation to ensure person-centred and strengths-based approaches are at the heart of all interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complex cases across areas such as safeguarding, hospital discharge, mental health, physical disabilities, and older people.

• Lead on Care Act assessments, support planning, and reviews.

• Undertake Mental Capacity Act assessments and best interest decisions where appropriate.

• Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, and service providers.

• Offer mentoring and professional support to less experienced staff and students.

• Maintain high standards of documentation and ensure legal compliance.

• Promote independence, choice, and control for service users.

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent)

• SWE (Social Work England) registration

• Strong post-qualifying experience in adult social care

• Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures

• Excellent assessment, communication, and risk management skills

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
