Advanced Health and Wellbeing Practitioner (Veterans)


Location: Edinburgh


Salary:  £38,149 plus staff benefits


Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time


Closing date:  14th of June 2026

The organisation are looking for a full time Advanced Practitioner to lead their ‘Meaningful Connections’ project which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and social participation of over 120 Armed Forces Veterans and their families across Scotland.


You will be based at The Organisation's Centre of Wellbeing, Edinburgh and the project will primarily focus on engaging over 120 Veterans and their family members in Edinburgh, Lothians and across the central belt of Scotland. Over 3 years, the hope is to extend support into other geographic areas of Scotland  where there is clear and unmet need. Therefore, this post will require frequent travel.


The post holder will:



  • Develop partnerships  with organisations across Scotland  already engaging veterans

  • Practice persistent engagement to help Veterans who struggle to receive support

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 support

  • Deliver Group-Based Lifestyle Management Courses

  • Engage with family members in group settings

  • Develop the role of Veteran Peers

  • Connect veterans with the wider community and partner services

  • Use a monitoring, evaluation and reporting framework to learn and develop practice


Are you a health and social care practitioner with experience of supporting people living with long term physical and mental health conditions to self-manage?



  • Do you cope well supporting vulnerable people who experience significant psychosocial barriers and health inequalities?

  • Do you believe people have strengths, are resilient and are experts in their own lives?

  • Do you thrive working autonomously in the community setting?

  • Do you have good solution focused coaching and group facilitation skills?
