Position: Advanced Practitioner - Children and Families Team
Location: Gloucester, Gloucestershire

As n Advanced Practitioner, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting children and families across Gloucestershire. This is an exciting opportunity for a resilient, driven and skilled social worker who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You will:

• Hold a protected caseload, focusing on children and young people with complex and challenging needs.
• Take the lead on quality assurance, performance improvement, and practice development within the team.
• Promote best practice across the service and contribute to continuous learning.
• Work collaboratively with professionals and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

You’ll be seen as a practice leader, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional oversight to team members and newly qualified workers.

What We’re Looking For:

• A qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s services, ideally working with complex cases.
• A proven ability to lead on practice development and quality assurance.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to child-centred, strengths-based practice.

Working Environment:

We operate a hybrid working model:

• Office-based work for visits, team duty service, and team-building.
• Remote working to complete administrative tasks.
• All children must be seen face-to-face, unless you are COVID-confirmed.
• You’ll be expected to spend more time in the office initially, to help build team cohesion and provide a stable start.

To support your role, you will be provided with a laptop and smartphone to work flexibly and effectively.
