Job Title: Freelance Lift Supervisor / A61 Appointed Person (AP) - Rail Project

Location: East London, London

Contract Duration: 6 Months

Day Rate: 250-300 a day

Randstad is urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Lift Supervisor / Appointed Person (AP) for a critical 6-month contract on a major rail project in East London. This is an immediate start for the right candidate.

If you are a certified A61 CPCS Lift Supervisor / CPCS Appointed Person we want to hear from you today. This is a key role ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency for all lifting operations on a live rail environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and Authorise all Lifting Operations: As the designated Appointed Person (AP), you will be the single point of authority for all lifts on-site. This includes creating detailed lift plans, method statements (RAMS), and risk assessments in strict accordance with LOLER 1998 and BS 7121 standards.

• Supervise and Ensure Safety: As the Lift Supervisor, you will have the on-site responsibility for overseeing every aspect of lifting operations, ensuring the competence of the lifting team and the safety of all personnel. You will have the authority to halt any unsafe lifting activity.

• Coordinate Lifting Team: You will be responsible for briefing and managing the lifting team, including Crane Operators, Slinger Signallers, and other associated personnel.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Essential: Valid CPCS Card with A61 Appointed Person

• Desirable: Current and valid Sentinel accreditation

• Essential: Demonstrable experience as a Lift Supervisor / AP on UK rail or major civil engineering projects.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team.
