We are seeking a creative and dedicated Art Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school in Folkestone on a maternity cover contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality art education, fostering creativity and expression among students.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and educational art lessons across various mediums and techniques.
• Encourage creativity and self-expression among students while teaching skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and other art forms.
• Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their artistic growth.
• Maintain a stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and creativity.
• Organize and manage art supplies and resources effectively.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to organize exhibitions and art shows that showcase students' work.
• Participate in departmental meetings and school training sessions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Art in a secondary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of art history and various artistic techniques.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their artistic talents.
• Commitment to professional development and staying current with educational practices and theories in art education.
