Contract Full-Stack Developer – Search Enhancements
Essex | Outside IR35 | Flexible working available

We’re looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to deliver a package of enhancements to a suite of branded e-commerce websites. This is a contract role starting immediately, outside IR35, based in Essex with flexible working options.

The primary focus will be improving product search functionality by integrating Algolia Search, ensuring users get faster, more accurate results — even with typos or spelling errors. You’ll also help align the user experience with other platforms and support operational initiatives such as tiered pricing and stock accuracy.

The Role:

Implement Algolia Search within ASP.NET (.NET Framework 4.8) websites
Enhance product search UX, prioritising relevance and popularity of results
Ensure accurate stock availability, including ring-fenced stock visibility
Align features and UX with the wider group site (icons, order tracking, etc.)
Enable case quantity ordering and tiered pricing functionality
Deliver clear testing, documentation, and handover to the internal team

Tech Stack:

ASP.NET (.NET Framework 4.8), C#
JavaScript, HTML, CSS
REST APIs
Algolia Search integration

What we’re looking for:

Strong experience integrating Algolia (or similar) into .NET websites
Solid understanding of e-commerce product search challenges
Commercial experience with mid-sized platforms
Ability to deliver scoped enhancements independently
Clear communication and documentation skills

Nice to have:

Experience with B2B e-commerce or branded microsites
Knowledge of stock logic/ERP-connected product data
Familiarity with order and pricing workflows
