Job Description - Asset Compliance and Contracts Officer

REED Business Support are pleased to be working with one of Edinburgh’s well established Housing Associations, who are looking to recruit a ‘Asset Compliance and Contracts Officer’ on a Temporary basis. In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of Ark’s service and contract compliance strategy, ensuring statutory and regulatory obligations are met, particularly around tenant and resident safety.

Part Time

Monday & Tuesday

£21.50 /hr

Work Pattern – 9am – 5pm

Office Based Role

Temporary Role – 2 Months

Start Date: ASAP

Location – Central Edinburgh

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance areas: gas, electrical, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety, lifts, CDM, mould/damp, HMOs, third-party leases.
  • Maintain accurate records, certificates, and ensure timely inspections and remedial works.
  • Monitor contractor performance via KPIs and regular reviews.
  • Develop and maintain robust data systems and reporting protocols.
  • Handle tenant complaints related to compliance.
  • Notify tenants and colleagues of inspections.
  • Maintain relationships with contractors, landlords, and care providers

What we're looking for:

  • Essential: HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: Degree, P405 Asbestos, Water Hygiene L3, Gas/Electrical/Fire Safety Awareness, Project Management (APM/Prince2), Membership of a professional body.
  • Strong background in property compliance, contract management, and social housing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and electronic data systems.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
