Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading & well-established manufacturing business in Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire, to recruit a hands-on & dynamic Assistant Management Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. A varied & hands-on accounting role, working within a close-knit team where you can really add value. You will provide key support to delivering management account preparation, assistance with financial reporting, through to transactional finance duties. Open to finance professionals who are qualified by experience or part-qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA. The position will provide training/development for the right candidate, but you will need some experience in a similar finance role.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve preparation of monthly management accounts, supporting margin analysis data, maintenance of the fixed asset register, posting monthly journals, accruals & prepayments. You will prepare stock information, stock adjustments & revaluation, prepare manufacturing variances & stock reconciliations. You will carry out monthly accounts payable/receivable reconciliations, oversight of credit control activities, preparation of payable/receivable days, along with ad-hoc duties & projects for senior management. This is a varied role, hands-on where you will be adaptable to business needs & support a close-knit accounting team.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on Assistant Management Accountant role, you will have experience in a similar position, strong numerical & analytical skills, used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines. You will be adaptable to business needs, a team player who can support others around the business, along with being comfortable with financial systems & MS Excel. You will have strong communication skills to build both internal/external relationships and a quick learner who has a proactive working approach. Experience within a small/medium-sized organisation and within the manufacturing sector would be advantageous but not essential.

This varied Assistant Management Accountant role - a 12-month fixed contract offers a salary between £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based in Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
