Assistant Accountant

Your new company
Our commercia client is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant for a 12-month FTC with fluent Japanese as you will be liaising with Japan.
Your new role
You will be responsible for inputting bank statements in Exchequer and Yayoi for all banks, performing daily bank reconciliations, and processing sales slips in both systems. You will produce and send transaction reports weekly, send monthly sales slip reminder emails, and post purchase and sales invoices on a weekly basis. Additionally, you will process sales orders in Exchequer, produce and send outstanding SOR reports weekly, and handle expenses, payroll, and petty cash postings. Your role will include invoice financing bank and post-dated cheque postings, month-end reconciliations, and approving payments. You will send monthly FX rates to the Japan sales team, adjust Yayoi FX rates, and monitor commission payable. Providing support and cover to the Japan Finance team, allocating all debtor and creditor accounts, calculating and accruing monthly Corporation Tax, and performing Yayoi to Exchequer B/S reconciliations are also part of your responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of working within a finance team processing purchase and sales ledger invoices along with bank reconciliations. You will be fluent in Japanese and have the ability to work with the team in Japan.
What you'll get in return
This is a hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 remote, salary up to £28,000 plus bonus, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
