Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Salary: Up to £30,000
Type: Full Time, temporary - potential for permanent, Onsite (with flexible hours)

We are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a well-established and growing business based in Ilkeston. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive finance team in a company that values development and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time role, fully based on-site, with flexibility in working hours. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and keen to grow in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the month-end close and production of management accounts

• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and journals

• Balance sheet reconciliations

• Weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting

• Investigate variances in revenue and costs

• Compile monthly commentary for the Managing Director

• Support process improvements and enhance financial reporting

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Accounts Assistant position

• Sound understanding of P&L, balance sheets, and general finance processes

• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems

• Strong communication skills and analytical thinking

• Team player with a desire to learn and progress
