Assistant Accountant - Temp to Perm
Location: Outskirts of Bath (car required)
Contract: Temporary with potential to go permanent
Salary: Competitive

Morgan McKinley is working exclusively with an exciting, fast-growing SME based just outside Bath. Due to recent growth, they're looking for a hands-on Assistant Accountant to join their close-knit finance team on a temporary basis - with the opportunity to go permanent if it's the right match for both sides.

This is a varied and busy role where you'll need to hit the ground running, so experience in a similar position is essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly VAT returns (UK and international) - a major part of the role

• Month-end routines: journal postings, accruals, prepayments

• Balance sheet and bank reconciliations

• Payroll preparation

• Accounts payable: end-to-end processing

• Light accounts receivable duties

• Running weekly/monthly payment runs

• Supporting year-end prep and liaising with external accountants

• Involvement in statutory accounts and occasional support with management accounts

What we're looking for:

• Experience in a similar role

• Confident using Sage

• Able to start at short notice

• Must have access to a car due to the location
