Assistant Accountant Temporary

A specialist services business in Guildford has an urgent requirement for a temporary Assistant Accountant to support them during their year end.

This is a busy, varied role involving everything from posting invoices and payment runs to bank reconciliations, VAT returns and assisting with the finalisation of statutory accounts.

The assignment is expected to last for at least 2-3 months, with the possibility of extension beyond this.

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

• Accurate, efficient entry of invoices into Xero accounting system.
• Making payments to suppliers.
• Bank reconciliations.
• VAT returns.
• Assisting with finalisation of year end accounts.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

• Broad transactional skillset, with recent experience in a similarly varied finance role, including bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and assisting with year end processes.
• Positive, proactive, ‘can do’ attitude, well organised and willing to assist with whatever is required.
• Proficient in the use of Xero accounting software, with intermediate/advanced Excel (lookups & pivot tables).
• Available to start at short notice and willing to commit for the duration of the assignment.
• Part qualified ACCA or CIMA / AAT L4 / Degree in Accountancy & Finance (desirable).
