Assistant Accountant - TV

A renowned independent TV production company is seeking an Assistant Accountant for a maternity cover contract, that will be a minimum of 10 month. This is a highly regarded TV Indie, known for creating exceptional factual and documentary programmes and has offices in London and the US—This is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your experience, where you’ll be exposed to both company and production finance within a vibrant and creative industry setting.

You’ll join a small, collaborative finance team, playing a pivotal role across all transactional aspects of finance, working closely with the business and production teams.. The position is based in the London office, with the expectation to be onsite four days a week.

To be a suitable candidate, you will need to have at least 18 months experience, ideally gained within TV or a similarly creative environment. You’ll have a naturally approachable & engaging personality, with a can-do attitude,

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end by preparing aged creditor reports, sales ledger summaries, and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records of all cashbook movements.

• Fully maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger from receipt of invoice through to processing of weekly payment runs, including international transfers

• Maintain accurate records of all cashbook movements.

• Manage freelancer payments and ensure all expenses are paid and accounted for

• Generate and send sales invoices to broadcasters and funders, tracking oy

• Partner with production teams for invoice approvals, milestone payments and resolution of any related queries
• Proactively chase overdue payments to support a strong cashflow

• Oversee the accounts inbox, prioritising payments and queries to keep things moving smoothly.

Candidate Specification

• At least 2 years’ finance experience, ideally gained in the TV or creative industries.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Confident, approachable, and engaging communication style across all teams.
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Octopus PMI is desirable but not required.
