  • Pay: £12.26 per hour (PAYE)

We are seeking an Assistant Clerk to join the Housing Register team at Wigan Council. This role is ideal for individuals who are organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about providing excellent administrative support in the housing sector.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the housing register.
  • Handle inquiries and provide information to the public regarding housing applications and procedures.
  • Process housing applications and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Support the team in scheduling appointments and organising meetings.
  • Prepare reports and documents related to housing management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and databases.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in a clerical or administrative role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of housing policies and procedures is advantageous.
