£32,000 to £40,000 per annum pro rata (dependant on experience)

Accountancy Action is currently recruiting for a financial services business based in Central London in order to find them an Assistant Fund Accountant. This is a 6 month contract to start mid-July. The client offers very flexible hybrid working. Hours are 9.00 - 6.00pm. The role: The role will be supporting the Assistant Director and Finance Director with the administration of multiple funds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to gain experience with a reputable company over a 6 month period.

Key responsibilities of the role will be:

• Supporting with the monthly management accounts preparation - balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries etc

• Assist with the preparation of year-end financial accounts

• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and cash flow forecasts for funds

• Bank reconciliations

• Assist with VAT returns

• Liaise with external auditors, suppliers and stakeholders.

• Assisting team with complex calculations and spreadsheets for the accounting transactions such as acquisitions and disposals.

• Review of relevant monthly VAT returns.

• Liquidity monitoring for funds and reporting the liquidity status to internal stakeholders.

• Review of payments and ensuring payment schedule is kept up to date.

• Fund accounting administration including: - Daily reconciliations of the cash and asset balances against the custodian. - Post daily accounting journals, invoices and income accruals. - Calculation of expense accruals and maintenance of expense reconciliations. - Responding to internal queries on the funds.

The ideal candidate:

• 3-4 years’ experience in either a fund accounting role, or as an Assistant Accountant involved in assisting with financial and management accounts

• AAT qualification would be desirable but not essential.

• Highly numerate, strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

• Strong excel knowledge is essential for this role.

• Available to start mid-July and commit to a 6 month contract.
