Assistant Housing Support Worker

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Assistant Housing Support Worker on a full-time basis in Liverpool, with temp to perm opportunities available after a minimum of 14 weeks. You'll play an important role in assisting Support Workers to provide high-quality housing support services to vulnerable individuals facing homelessness in Liverpool.

You'll be taking part in a 3-week rolling rota, working 1 in every 3 weekends. Weekday shifts will either be 7am to 3pm or 1pm to 9pm, weekend shifts will be 8am to 8pm.

Your new role

• Assisting with admin duties on behalf of Support Workers such as updating online systems, uploading risk assessments, support plans etc
• Assisting clients with benefit queries, applications or any other relevant support they may require in relation to housing benefits and ensure full maximisation of income
• Assisting Support Workers where required to carry out/complete support plan reviews
• Completing health & safety building checks and room inspections
• Promoting positive, healthy lifestyle choices and encouraging move-on to independent living
• Liaising with various external agencies such as Local Authority housing teams, mental health teams, GPs and nurses, Police, Drug and Alcohol teams

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience of working in a similar social housing setting/environment, having supported vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness, drug & alcohol misuse or mental health
• A good knowledge of welfare benefits and housing options
• An understanding of risk assessments and support planning within a housing environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident IT user
• Enhanced DBS (Update service preferable but new can be carried out if non-transferrable)
