Job Summary:
⢠The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a temporary Assistant Lawyer (Housing and Litigation) to support the Housing & Litigation Team.
⢠The role involves assisting the Senior Lawyer in licensing, prosecution, and housing\-related legal matters.
⢠This is a full\-time contract (35 hours/week) from 18/01/2026 to 18/06/2026, with standard office hours of 09:00â17:00.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
⢠Assist the Senior Lawyer in conducting legal work for housing and litigation cases.
⢠Manage allocated licensing and prosecution matters under supervision.
⢠Prepare, draft, and review legal documents, notices, and correspondence.
⢠Provide legal advice and guidance in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
⢠Support case preparation for hearings, tribunals, and court proceedings.
⢠Maintain accurate case files and records in compliance with internal policies.
⢠Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders as required.
⢠Conduct research on housing, licensing, and litigation law to support legal cases.
Skills/Experience:
⢠Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal experience in housing law, litigation, and licensing matters.
⢠Knowledge of housing legislation, enforcement, and prosecution processes.
⢠Experience in drafting legal documents, notices, and correspondence.
⢠Strong case management and organisational skills.
⢠Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal information clearly.
⢠Ability to work under supervision and manage allocated caseloads efficiently.
⢠Experience liaising with internal teams, courts, and external stakeholders.
⢠Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
⢠Proficient in IT and legal case management systems.
