1. Purpose of the role
The Assistant Management Accountant works with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager to produce accurate and timely financial management information and assist in the month/year-end processes. The Assistant Management Accountant is also required to develop a working knowledge of all the financial department operations to assist where required to ensure that the department always operates at the optimum level..
1. Key Responsibilities
• Assist Finance Manager with month-end close process and prepare monthly management accounts providing insightful explanations of material deviations from actuals, forecasts, budget and historical trends
• Preparation of P&L, balance sheet, working capital and cashflow reports, including commentary and relevant comparatives
• Liaise closely with the finance team to reconcile, report and forecast revenue streams, order intake forecast and margin
• Prepare Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for the finance manager to review and sign off
• Preparation of the monthly Own Store P&L with commentary
• Update monthly Accruals and prepayments file
• Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are coded correctly
• Preparation of key customer sales reports for sales management KPI analysis
• Preparation of daily, weekly order intake reports by using Power BI report
• Account payable/receivable support when required
• Support internal/external audit requirements
• Support the Management team with ad hoc projects
1. Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience/Profile
• Professional, can-do attitude with an aptitude for learning and development
• Technically strong, qualified or finalist, studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar financial department role
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analysis of large volumes of data
• Power BI, OneStream/Hyperion/Oracle ERP system, D365/AX and Basware knowledge is a plus but not a must
• Strong attention to detail is key
• Self-motivated with a commitment to continual improvement
• A good communicator with the ability to work cooperatively with our UK and international finance teams
1. Reporting Structure
• This role will report to the Finance manager.
• 40 hours per week
• The role will be based at our UK head office in Hayes, Middlesex, with some flexible working
