Market Officer

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary
• Location: HD1, Huddersfield
• Salary: £12.65 PAYE per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Market Officer to join our team. This role requires a high level of reliability and the ability to work across various market locations in Huddersfield and Dewsbury. The position involves mixed shift patterns and weekend work, with a focus on maintaining market cleanliness and safety.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work across 7 days a week with mixed shift patterns, from 6am to 7pm.
• Drive to different market locations, including early starts at Dewsbury and Huddersfield.
• Perform heavy-duty cleaning tasks, including public toilets, and handle biological hazards.
• Erect market stalls and engage in other forms of heavy manual handling, requiring physical fitness.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, security, and health and safety at various market sites.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle due to early start times and lack of early public transport.
• Experience in cleaning, security, and health and safety is preferable.
• Ability to handle heavy manual tasks and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Must own steel toe capped boots with ankle support and a waterproof jacket; other uniform items will be provided.
• Must be willing to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) without enhanced pay rates.
