Assistant Systems Accountant required to join a rapidly growing Public Sector organisation based in Liverpool. My client is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is an experienced Assistant Systems Accountant to join their dynamic and growing organisation on a 12 month FTC due to the implementation of a new system.

As the Assistant Systems Accountant you will report to the Systems Accountant and will contribute to the maintenance and development of all finance systems and processes alongside other duties below:

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Systems Accountant;

• Assist the Systems Accountant on the development of existing and implementation of new financial systems and processes to ensure consistency and efficient processing of financial information.
• Assist with the development of financial reports for the Group that support decision making.
• Ensure systems controls are embedded and permissions are in line with approved limits.
• Liaise with internal departments in relation to developing an understanding of financial systems and process.
• Assist the Systems Accountant in the review and challenge existing systems and processes to improve efficiency through automation.
• Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date.
• Assist with the assessment and implementation of new finance systems and processes
• Assist with ensuring financial controls, policies and procedures for the Group are adhered to.
• Provide comprehensive sound financial information and advice to internal and external stakeholders where required.

Required skills and experience of the Systems Accountant :

• Ideally AAT Qual /Part Qual or equivalent
• Experience in developing systems and processes
• Experience in and accountancy and finance
• Experience and Knowledge of PowerBI and SQL
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to collect and analyse information accurately
