Attendance Officer - Secondary Academy, Chesterfield

A thriving secondary academy in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a vital role in supporting students' success by ensuring excellent attendance and punctuality across the school.

For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for the role to become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage daily student attendance records
• Work closely with students, parents, and staff to promote and improve attendance
• Follow up on absences and ensure appropriate documentation is collected
• Produce attendance reports and data for senior leaders
• Liaise with external agencies when necessary

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience in a similar school-based or administrative role (preferred)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Confident using attendance systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Proactive, supportive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
