Band 6 Assistant Finance Manager

To provide an efficient and professional management accounting service to Departments within the Divisions/Directorates and the Trust. The postholder will be responsible for producing reports, projections and analysis and will liaise with budget holders and other managers to generate "intelligence" to support forecasting and the medium term business planning process.

Description

• Provide financial support and analysis to assist decision-making processes within the department.
• Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organisational policies.
• Monitor budgets, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and forecasts.
• Support the financial planning and budget-setting process for the organisation.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and public sector accounting standards.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address financial queries and provide guidance.
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness.

Profile

A successful Band 6 Assistant Finance Manager should have:

• A strong background in accounting and finance, ideally within the public sector.
• Relevant professional qualifications or part-qualified status in accountancy.
• Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Good knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Experience in budget management and financial analysis.
