We are currently partnering with a leading private laboratory in London seeking a Band 7 Locum Biomedical Scientist to join their Histopathology team, with a focus on both routine histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-equipped private setting, delivering high-quality diagnostics alongside a team of skilled professionals.

Role Details:

• Role: Locum Band 7 Biomedical Scientist – Histopathology

• Location: London (Private Laboratory)

• Pay Rate: £30–£40 per hour (dependent on experience)

• Start Date: ASAP

• Duration: Ongoing

• Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• High-volume microtomy, embedding, and routine staining

• Performing and troubleshooting Immunohistochemistry (IHC) protocols

• Operating and maintaining histology instruments (e.g., Leica or Thermo microtomes)

• Ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards and turnaround times

Requirements:

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist

• Minimum 2 years UK experience in Histopathology, including IHC

• Strong experience with microtomy (30–40 blocks/hour preferred)

• Familiarity with private or high-throughput laboratory settings

• Ability to work independently and meet diagnostic deadlines
