Locum Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – NHS Hospital, Essex (via Hunter AHP)

End Date: 30/09/2025 (with potential for extension)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Hourly Rate: £33 – £37 (paid weekly every Friday)
Contract Type: Locum (via Hunter AHP)

Hunter AHP are seeking a Band 8a Locum Clinical Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy team at a well-regarded NHS Hospital in Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled pharmacist looking to provide high-quality care within a supportive hospital environment.

• Provide ward-based clinical pharmacy services across a range of specialties

• Deliver support within the dispensary, including discharge medication processing

• Undertake out-patient pharmacy duties and manage homecare prescription screening

• Ensure the safe and effective use of medicines, contributing to patient safety and service continuity

• GPhC registration as a Pharmacist

• Previous NHS hospital experience at Band 8a level (or strong Band 7 experience with relevant clinical skills)

• Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work autonomously

• Experience with discharge processes, outpatient services, and homecare screening preferred

• Competitive hourly rate: £33–£37/hour

• Weekly payroll – paid every Friday

• Support from a dedicated Hunter AHP consultant throughout your placement
