Randstad is proud to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive school in Manchester. This full-time, long-term position starts in September 2025 and is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about transforming the lives of young people through strong behavioural support and education.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. You'll support students in developing positive behaviours, emotional regulation, and academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored, engaging lessons to students with behavioural needs

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies

  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs and EHCP targets

  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress

  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

  • Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to support student welfare

  • Monitor and assess student development and behaviour improvement

Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching students with behavioural or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Experience in UK schools

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Ability to provide professional references from recent employers

Highly Desirable:

  • Team Teach or other de-escalation/restraint training

  • Experience working in PRUs, alternative provisions, or specialist SEMH settings

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and restorative behaviour practices
