Join our team as a BIA Assessor and play a key role in safeguarding individuals under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) framework. In this role, you will:

• Conduct Best Interest Assessments (BIAs) in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005)
• Provide clear and comprehensive reports to support legal decision-making
• Work collaboratively with professionals across health and social care
• Ensure assessments are person-centred and uphold the individual’s rights
• Travel within Somerset for in-person assessments

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A current BIA qualification and relevant experience
• Social Work England or HCPC registration (if applicable)
• Strong understanding of DoLS and Mental Capacity Act legislation
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills
• A commitment to ethical and professional practice

This is an ongoing locum role, requiring in-person attendance for assessments. Flexible working arrangements may be available.
