Job Description - Bid Desk Executive

About This Opportunity


We are looking for an internal candidate to cover this role during a period of maternity leave. The role will start in April 2025 to allow for a thorough handover, with maternity cover commencing from June 2025 for a period of 9 to 12 months. This is a great opportunity to broaden your experience within Techbuyer, working at the heart of our new business operations and building relationships with end-user sales, OEM vendor partners and distributors.


Day-to-day line management may be provided by a nominated member of the Vendor team to ensure you have regular office-based guidance and support.



The Role


The Bid Desk Executive is the coordination point between our end-user sales team and OEM vendors/distributors during new business deal pursuits. You'll manage deal registrations, secure competitive pricing, gather market intelligence on win probability, and ensure our sales team has everything they need to close deals successfully.



Key Responsibilities



  • Act as the day-to-day contact for end-user sales representatives requiring product and service pricing from OEM vendors and distributors

  • Manage vendor deal registration on behalf of Techbuyer, ensuring timely quote turnarounds

  • Gather competitive intelligence during registration (customer purchasing history, competitor activity, win probability assessment)

  • Liaise with vendors for best pricing, recommended retail prices, and product availability

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key vendor and distribution contacts

  • Work closely with the Vendor Manager to ensure strategic aims are reflected in transactions

  • Promote the attachment of services to every quotation

  • Partner with End-User Operations on order placement

  • Maintain deal registration records and provide win/loss analysis for quarterly performance reviews
