Brent Council - Senior Finance Analyst

Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to serve as a Business Partner for Brent Council's subsidiary housing companies: i4B Holdings Ltd and First Wave Housing Ltd. i4B (established to reduce homelessness and provide affordable, good quality homes) owns and manages a number of Private Rented Sector (PRS) properties as well as key worker housing located in Wembley Park. First Wave Housing is a registered provider of social housing.

In the role as a Senior Finance Analyst for within the housing companies finance team you will be responsible for delivering timely and high quality business planning and financial reporting.

Your key responsibilities will include:

* Regular financial reporting and analysis.
* Conducting formal investment appraisals to assess the financial viability of future development opportunities.
* Providing strategic financial advice to senior management and the company boards.
* Exploring and negotiating funding for capital acquisitions from the shareholder or other stakeholders.
* Developing financial models and projections, including the 30-year business plan, to support decision-making.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory financial reporting standards.

The Senior Finance Analyst will report into the relevant Head of Finance. They will provide officers and senior stakeholders with high level professional advice and make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service. Key activities will include:

* Being actively involved in material business decisions to ensure immediate and longer-term implications, opportunities and risks are fully considered, and alignment with the organisation's financial strategy.
* Leading the promotion of good financial management so that public money is safeguarded at all times and used appropriately, economically, efficiently and effectively.
* Promoting and developing a culture that supports a Self-Service approach to service delivery.
* Ensuring a systematic approach to financial control alongside the modernisation and streamlining of all processes.
* Supporting the departmental Head of Finance in the provision of high-level professional advice on a very broad range of financial issues.
* Managing and leading staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability.

Qualifications: CCAB-qualified accountant
Knowledge: evidence of significant relevant continuing professional development (CPD)
